The past week I have been on a little get away to Scotland, this is why this post is a little overdue. While I was away I was lets say a little relaxed with my nutrition. One part of the trip saw me in Oban a small coastal town within the Argyll and Bute region. Being in a coastal town I was eager to try some of the local fish and was given a recommendation for a seafood restaurant called EE-USK. This has to be one of the best recommendations I have ever had! Take a look at this......

Fresh as can be seafood platter

This was just one course that I indulged in. This seafood platter including Oysters, langoustines, cracked crab claw, smoked salmon, mussels and a scallop. The muscles were in a garlic butter sauce and were delicious! The oysters sourced from Loch Creran were huge yet still very flavoursome. The crab claw was very rich and suited well with the subtle marie rose dip. I was also able to try some of the locally caught lobster which was a nice treat and at a very fair price!

Now this was a treat or cheat meal but I was still able to take in plenty of protein and get some good oils from the variation of fish, however this did contain a great deal of cholesterol and salt.

On a final note, your cheat meal or day doesn't have to be a burger or a greasy take-out meal, treat yourself and enjoy your food!
